Brief  Introduction

The Laboratory is one of the earliest laboratories established by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The Laboratory mainly carries out studies on environmental fate, ecological effect and toxicology of pesticides, as well as pesticide environmental evaluation system and technology, pesticide pollution control technology and global pesticide environmental issues. The orientation of the Laboratory is to be the technical support institution for MEP on decision making of pesticide environmental management and supervision, and the national environmental science and technology innovation base.

Research  Facilities

The laboratory has an office area of 300 m² and experimental area of 1,000 m², as well as a field experiment base of 3.3 ha for pesticide environmental risk assessment. It is equipped with more than 80 sets of instruments including equipments for molecular biology research, physiology and biochemistry research, chemical analysis testing research and sample handling system. It passed the national laboratory qualification certification and national laboratory accreditation. The level of the hardware and software is in a leading position in the country.

The Laboratory carries out long-term scientific and technological cooperation with research institutions of Germany, USA, Japan and South Korea, etc. in the fields of pesticides environmental risk assessment and chemicals ecological test technology. The experts of the Laboratory have also given important presentations in international conferences and workshops. The Laboratory is now an influential institution with higher international popularity.
